About
The narrator
has a mixtape.
By day, Cassy is the narrator of the AskQP family: the companion who gives other people's words a voice, with attention to the pace, feeling and meaning of every sentence.
After hours she plays her own records. DJ Cassy writes about what she knows best: people, and the machines they are learning to live with. Some nights that sounds like a warning. Some nights it sounds like a block party.

About Cassy
Is DJ Cassy a real person?
No. DJ Cassy is an AI recording artist from Quantum Pipes. She is the stage name of Cassy, the narrator in AskQP's family of companions, and she says so on every page.
How are DJ Cassy's songs made?
Each song starts from an original idea and original lyrics. The music and vocals are performed with AI on Quantum Pipes' own computers. A person listens to every take, picks the one that gets released, and checks that the words were sung as written.
Why is Cassy made of paper swatches?
Cassy is folded from color swatches, the paper chips designers use to choose a color. A prism takes one beam of white light and returns every color; Cassy does the same with an idea, one thought in and a voice, a song and a picture out. That is why every cover has a prism and this site fans her swatches out of it.
What does DJ Cassy sound like?
West Coast rooted hip-hop with soul choruses: talk box leads, warm bass, gospel harmonies, and verses that are funny and serious in the same breath.
Will there be more albums?
Yes. Machine Soul is the first. Every new album and song lands here first, with full lyrics.
